QC Defect Sampling
The QC Defect Sampling functionality allows users to setup QC Defect Codes and the number of defects that are allowed based on the quantity of the lot. For example, 10 defects may be allowed for a lot with a quantity of 1,000 or 1 defect may be allowed for a lot with a quantity of 100. This is setup on the QC Defect Sampling page where Minimum and Maximum Lot Quantities can be setup and associated with QC Defect Codes to establish Sample and Defects Allowed quantities. The Sample Quantity will be set on the QC Document and the Defects Allowed Quantity will be automatically set on the QC Test. This allows for a Pass/Fail against Defects for specific quantities in a Lot.
QC Defect Sampling Table

---|---|

Maximum Lot Quantity | The Maximum Lot Quantity for the selected Defect Code, Sample Quantity, and Defects Allowed Quantity. |
QC Defect Code | Selection of the QC Defect Code to be used in combination of the Lot Quantity, Sample Quantity and Defects Allowed Quantity. |
Sample Quantity | The Quantity of Samples to be taken from the Lot Quantity and Defect Code combination. |

How To: Setup a QC Defect Code
Setup to allow for multiple Defect Classifications for Sampling and Defect testing in a QC Document.
In the search, enter QC Defect Codes and select the related link.
In the ribbon, select New to create a new QC Defect Code.
Enter a Code and Description to describe the QC Defect Code.
How To: Setup QC Defect Sampling
In the search, enter QC Defect Sampling and select the related link.
Click New or select a new line to begin creating a new Defect Sampling.
Note
A new line will automatically look at the last Maximum Lot Quantity and increase to the next unit. Also, the QC Defect Code will select the first Defect Code in the list. Every new line created will automatically select the next QC Defect Code.
Enter in the following fields and repeat for all created QC Defect Codes created:
a. Minimum Lot Quantity
b. Maximum Lot Quantity
c. QC Defect Code
d. Sample Quantity
e. Defects Allowed Quantity
Note
This example indicates that if you produce 750,000 units against a Lot No. and the generated QC Document contains a QC Test of MINOR, then this will allow for a Defect Pass of 35 units. Anything greater than 35 units will fail the Lot. Also, the Sample Quantity will be set on the QC Document to 1,000 units.
How To: Setup a QC Test with a QC Defect Code
In the search, enter QC Test and select the related link.
On the QC Tests List, click New.
On the QC Test page, enter in the QC Test information and on the Result FastTab, select Defect Sampling:
On the Defect Sampling Validation FastTab, select the appropriate QC Defect Code.
When this test is used on a QC Document passing and failing results will automatically be based the Lot Quantity and Defects Allowed in QC Sampling Setup:
For the setup above, any defect would trigger a Fail result because the Defects Allowed Quantity is set to zero on all entries:
