How to: Send and Print QC Links
This functionality allows you to send and/or print QC Links, using the standard Links functionality built into Business Central, that are attached to QC Documents to be sent to customers.
Prerequisites:
Links must point to a shared location (such as SharePoint) and the applicable folders/files must be set to public (anyone with link can view).
SMTP within Business Central must be set up for email sending.
In the search box, enter QC Documents and select the related link.
Select a QC Document that a Link will be added to by either clicking on the QC Document No. or by selecting Edit in the ribbon.
Within the Attachments FactBox, select the plus sign to add a new link to the QC Document.
Copy and paste the link of the address the document is saved to and enter a description for the link. Click OK once complete.
In the search, enter Sales Orders and select the related link.
Select Manage and then Edit on an existing Sales Order that contains a Lot No. with a QC Document assigned.
In the Lines FastTab, click Manage and then Item Tracking Lines.
Highlighted is the Lot No. and the associated QC Document that will be pulled for QC Links.
To send the QC Links via email directly from Business Central, within the Sales Order click on the Actions ribbon, then Quality Control and then Send QC Links.
A new window will appear that will show all attachments and send the attachments to whomever. The contact email from the Customer Card will be auto set if populated.
Note
NOTE: If you click on Manage you will have an option to download the attachments. This will download the selected attachment and can only be done one at a time. Click OK once complete.
To print the QC Links, which will automatically download the files in their respective file formats, within the Sales Order click on the Actions ribbon, then Quality Control and then Print QC Links.
The file will be automatically downloaded. The example below was generated using Microsoft Edge. Note that the downloaded file appears below and will also appear in your Downloads file.
Note
If there are multiple files associated with the Sales Order then the downloaded files will be placed into a Compressed (zipped) Folder.
